This week we\u2019ll guide you through the first song on the album, called \u2018Black Horizon\u2019. The
\nstory will reveal much of the meaning behind both the music and the lyrics.<\/p>\n
Black Horizon is the song that kicks off the album full speed, with a grand musical intro. A
\nfitting start to the journey- one that still seems like a dream.<\/p>\n
The wanderer seems alone, in the rush of his own imagination. A storm is raging inside of
\nhim and he must unlock something within himself to escape it. The music has a raw
\ndarkness to it, that makes the raging of that storm all the more impactful.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s no one to guide you through now, so you must trust in your own fate.\u201d<\/p>\n
At this point we don\u2019t know what the wanderer\u2019s fate will be, but we\u2019re certain that it\u2019s
\nsomething that will save him from the raging storm and the darkness on his heels. It\u2019s
\nalmost like a nightmare is chasing him through a fitful sleep, the \u2018voices of death\u2019 trying to
\ncoax him into the nightmare. Their voices resonate through the pre-chorus of the song,
\nscreaming of destruction.<\/p>\n
Thankfully there\u2019s a lighter voice in the distance, telling him to look within himself. \u201cYour
\nheart holds the answers still unfound,\u201d she says. The music changes dramatically as the
\nchorus sets in, like the sun breaking through the clouds. That feeling continues through that
\npart of the song, where the voice continues to tell him to let his power \u2018come to light\u2019 and
\nthat \u2018eternal blaze\u2019 will lead his soul to glory. It\u2019s a hopeful moment- but it\u2019s short.<\/p>\n
The music regains the heaviness again and the drastic change in tone is evident. The sun is
\ngone; the wanderer is alone once again. The story continues with the message: \u2018The
\ndarkness is inevitable and there\u2019s no way around it. Face your nightmare and deal with it.\u2019
\nThe wanderer is once again reminded of his dormant power to overcome this darkness; a
\npower that is most definitely strong enough to counter whatever is on his heels.<\/p>\n
Soon, the light is back to encourage him and the wanderer seems to slowly realize his own
\npotential. He seems doubtful at first, the instrumental part between the last two choruses
\nsounding like he\u2019s overwhelmed. It doesn\u2019t last long- the voice is back to remind him: \u201cYour
\nheart holds the answers still unfound, the compass buried deep within your soul!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018Black Horizon\u2019 is the first look into the dreamscape of \u2018the Other Side\u2019 and the first time we
\nget to know both the darkness, the light and the potential of the wanderer. His journey will
\ncontinue in the second song, \u2018Spark of Hope\u2019, which we will talk about next week.<\/p>\n
