Avalon – A Doorway to Illusion

Avalon – A Doorway to Illusion

Welcome back to Behind the Music! This week, we dive into the third track of the album – “Avalon.” After surviving his first battle with darkness in “Black Horizon” and “Spark of Hope,” the Wanderer now faces something completely different: a world of beauty, wonder… and deception.

The Clock Starts Ticking

The song opens with the sound of a clock ticking, instantly creating a sense of urgency. This detail sets the tone: something is about to happen, and time matters. Unlike the first two tracks, the perspective shifts—the lyrics are now written from the Wanderer’s own voice.

“I hear it softly humming, the light behind the open door.”

What was real and what was dream? His previous fight against darkness feels distant, almost like an illusion, as he awakens to a strange humming sound coming from the hallway. Drawn like a magnet, he sees a door glowing with light. He cannot resist entering.

A World Beyond Imagination

The music in the verses mirrors this curious, mysterious atmosphere, pulling listeners into the same sense of wonder. Then the chorus explodes in brightness and excitement as he steps into an astonishing new realm:

“A kingdom far beyond my dreams, I don’t want to leave.”

But the shift is unsettling. The moment these words echo, the music changes—an edge of danger creeps in. Is Avalon real? Or is it too perfect, a trap in disguise?

Enchanted… or Deceived?

As the Wanderer explores further, his awe deepens:

“I feel enchanted, calm and free. The magic fills my soul.”

The arrangement swells with a sense of grandeur, but subtle harmonies warn us—something isn’t right. Then a menacing voice breaks through:

“Welcome stranger, to the kingdom of plenty. Can you feel the magic in the air? What you see goes beyond reality, but it appears only to those who believe!”

The choir enters with intensity, casting a dark shadow over the beauty of Avalon. The Wanderer remains oblivious, too captivated to sense the danger. The track closes on an ominous note:

“I don’t want to leave…”

As the last words fade, the ticking clock returns, slowly disappearing into silence. Has the Wanderer fallen into a trap? We’ll find out in the next chapter: “Escape the Darkness.”
